Titan, an "everything-proof" device from Tyukalov

USB Flash Drives have become an extremely important part of our daily lives, since they allow us to carry around quite a large amount of data in a very small and portable device. However, most devices from this family do have the rather nasty habit of breaking down exactly when you need them most, either because we've used them to the limit, or because they've been affected by some external factors, as for example water, shocks or vibrations.

And that's exactly the reason why a Russian guy, presumably called Tyukalov, has decided to take USB matters into his own hands, and came up with a custom-made USB drive that will surely last for a lifetime, since it's coated in titanium alloy and protected against any external factor you might think of.

According to the inventor, the device, dubbed "Titan", is manufactured out of a graphite/aluminum composite metal matrix, generally used by various space agencies for their spacecrafts, and is also coated with a layer of titanium, a metal which can withstand corrosion, as well as the destructive power of various chemical substances and acids. Thus, his device is completely waterproof, shockproof, vibration proof and static-proof, as well as any other "proof" you might think of.

Here are the most important features and specs the Titan USB Flash Drive has to offer:

- dimensions: 53 x 20 x 13 mm; - weight: 20 grams; - storage capacities: 1 GB, 2 GB; - compatible with: Windows 98/98SE/ME/XP/2000, Mac OS 8.6 and Linux 2,4,0; - interface: USB 2.0, USB 1.1.

The very original manufacturer also states that he'll build just 100 of these things to ship worldwide, at a price of US $197 for the 1 GB model, and US $247 for the 2 GB model, which is expensive, but not that expensive, considering the fact that you're getting both a very useful portable storage device AND a collector's item for this sum.
