The Crew, the upcoming online racing game from Ubisoft, will feature around 16 cities in its virtual version of the USA, and just New York alone will be similar in size to Grand Theft Auto 4's Liberty City.

Ubisoft is quite confident in its upcoming The Crew online racing title, bringing it to a wide variety of platforms, including PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The game's world will be huge, according to Lead Designer Serkan Hassan, who confirmed to IGN that around 15 or 16 cities would be present in the final version of the title.

What's more, many of these cities will be huge, as The Crew's New York is similar in size to GTA 4's Liberty City.

Hassan described the game's big world with an example of driving from the East Coast to the West Coast.

"I heard somewhere that if you take one of our fastest cars, tuned to the maximum and floor it on highways only going East Coast to West Coast, it'll take you about 90 minutes real-world time. That's you driving a Lamborghini that's highly-tuned and sticking to freeway routes, which are the most direct."

The Crew is set to debut in the first half of 2014.
