The online racing game enables players to trick out their rides

The Crew has just received some fresh info about its different car specs and how players will be able to modify their rides to suit various mission requirements, taking them from the street to the dirt paths and even on the racing circuits.

The Crew was revealed last year as an online racing game in which players were able to instantly modify the nature of their cars, fitting different components and transforming them into specialized racing machines.

After hearing details about the game's open world and its upcoming fall launch, Ubisoft has posted some fresh info on the UbiBlog about the different specs a car can go through in the racing game.

First up, all vehicles will start in Street Spec, which allows them the greatest versatility, acting as a Jack of All Trades, according to the company.

"It’s the one people are the most familiar with from other games. You can customize it however you want, of course. It’s a very versatile vehicle. You’re never going to take that vehicle off-road for massive amounts of time. It’s very agile, though," The Crew Game Director Julian Gerighty said.

Seeing as how the world will be opened to players right from the get-go, they can take the street-spec car anywhere they want and can. However, if they want to have an easier time on the gravel roads cross country, they can use the Dirt Spec for their vehicle. This makes the car more efficient off-road but loses in terms of speed when it goes up against the Street Spec.

If you want to go even further and not let anything stand in your way, Ubisoft has also implemented Raid Spec, which turns the car into an unstoppable force that can explore practically all of the game's massive world.

Players who care only about speed will be able to get the Perf Spec, which is designed specifically for highway battles and other races that take place on paved roads. This type of spec loses in terms of maneuverability to the Street Spec and versatility to Dirt Spec.

Last but not least, there's the Circuit Spec which, according to Ubisoft, should feel right at home for those who come off of simulators like Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo. This spec is perfect for races on professional circuits but requires quite a bit of skill to control.

All these specs can be upgraded in terms of performance, so expect to spend a lot of time tuning your rides in The Crew when it launches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One this fall.
