Players will need to move fast from Black Hills to Chicago

The development team at Ubisoft in charge of The Crew is announcing that it is entering a partnership with Xfinity in order to launch a massive competition that allows players to win money which can be used to buy gas or video games.

Basically, players will get access to a special RUF CTR 3 – Xfinity Edition vehicle and will then have to drive as fast as possible from Black Hills to Chicago in order to have a chance at getting the prizes.

Fans of The Crew who are interested in taking part need to log into the official site using the uPlay account and then use it to start the racing game.

The prologue needs to be completed and a first visit to the HQ needs to happen before a new Speed Challenge mission, using the special car, is revealed.

It’s then up to the player to move fast in order to reach the top of the leaderboards and try to stay there until January 6, 2015, when the Xfinity Challenge for The Crew ends.

The official announcement says that the prizes are:

- Grand Prize (3 winners – one per platform) – $2,600 cash for gas (1,800Euro) - First Prize (3 winners – one per platform) – $600 gift card for games (420 Euro) - Second Prize (1,500 winners) – Unlock code for the Xfinity RUF car

It’s unclear whether Ubisoft has more competitions like this one lined up or whether its current partnership is not designed for the long term and Xfinity will no longer be associated with The Crew after January 6 of next year.

Racing all across the United States of America

The Crew is an ambitious video game which aims to allow players to race all across the United States using a wide variety of vehicles and choosing their own play style.

There are wide open areas to move through across the country, but there are also tense urban chases that ask players to constantly shift their approach.

The game managed to have a mostly smooth launch, which is a good sign for its long-term future, but many gamers believe that the title lacks solid innovation and its mechanics are less engaging than those of DriveClub or Forza Horizon 2.

Ubisoft has promised that it will support The Crew in the long term with new cars and with events which will encourage the community to play and try to get as many rewards as possible.
