Excellent news for horror movie fans! After months of teasing and delays, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have announced that the surprise horror movie coming out in October 2014 is, in fact, the highly anticipated “Anabelle” spinoff.

If you’re a horror movie fan, I imagine you already know what we’re talking about. Anabelle is an evil doll that appeared in last year’s “The Conjuring,” one of the biggest surprises at the box office of 2013.

It is always locked behind a glass case in the home museum of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and as you can see in the video below, it should never be touched because it’s possessed, but in “The Conjuring,” it does find a way out of the case.

In January this year, Warners announced that, besides a sequel to “The Conjuring,” it had also greenlighted a spinoff that would focus solely on the backstory of this terrible and terribly evil doll.

Collider confirms that this one, “Anabelle,” comes out on October 3, 2014, while “The Conjuring 2” is scheduled for release one year later, on October 23, 2015.

“The film was directed by John R. Leonetti (who served as a DP on The Conjuring and should be able to recreate that film’s style) and written by Gary Dauberman (the upcoming Crawlspace from the same studios). James Wan is producing alongside Peter Safran. The film stars the somewhat ironically named Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders), Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard,” the trade publication reports.
