Coming to the Nintendo Wii

Since its release, some players have been saying that the Nintendo Wii is unable to handle more hardcore titles and genres like the first person shooter, which usually generate good sales on other gaming platforms.

But High Voltage Software thinks otherwise and has already created and it’s preparing to release a FPS for the Wii, called The Conduit. And, doubling down on its bet, the developer has also announced that it plans two more videogames for the platform, named The Grinder and Gladiator A.D.

The latter is said to be a fighting action game set in Roman times and will allow players to take part in arena matches, with gladiators taking on other fighters and maybe even other threats, like animals.

Gladiator A.D. will have both single player and multiplayer modes and will make use of the control scheme of the Nintendo Wii in order to add an organic feel to the combat itself. High Voltage Software is set to be released sometime during the 2010 holiday season.

The Grinder is another title revealed by the developer. As the name implies, this is a first person shooter created with co operative play in mind. The game should feature werewolves, vampires and various other undead forms as the main antagonists, as the players seek to hold out against their hordes.

The people at High Voltage Software acknowledge that the Valve created Left 4 Dead was one of the main influences on the design of The Grinder. The game is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2010.

The only question is whether such titles, which feature a lot of violence and attract gamers interested in graphics quality, will prove to be a hit on the Nintendo Wii, where other similar offerings, like MadWorld, have not posted very good sales numbers.
