OK, I know that this might not be considered exactly a "gadget", but it's one of the greatest developments I've seen in this area for quite a long time, and I simply can't let it go by unnoticed. Why? Well, simply because the Pronto condom will make life (and sex) a lot easier for all men, since it can be applied in just a matter of seconds.

As most of us men know pretty well, putting on a condom can prove to be quite a tricky business, especially in the dark and...well, while subjected to other external stimuli. And that's exactly the reason why Willem van Rensburg - a Cape Town based inventor - came up with a revolutionary idea, that of fitting an ordinary prophylactic with a small plastic applicator that makes the application a lot easier and faster. Thus, all the user has to do is crack the pack open and unroll the condom directly onto the penis, as, by sliding the pack downwards, the applicator allows the condom to unroll by itself.

As the manufacturers inform us, the Pronto condom is available just in a Regular (Standard) version, but the Thin and Ribbed versions will be added to the lineup starting with 2007. Moreover, the users won't have to pay a lot more for these very innovative "rubbers", since the manufacturers have managed to keep the production costs at quite a low level, and thus the Pronto condoms are sold at the same price as conventional premium priced condoms.

Unfortunately, the Pronto condoms are sold just in South Africa for the time being, but the manufacturers promise us that they will hit the international market starting next year. The sooner, the better, I say.
