“The Collection” Trailer: “Saw” Evolved, Degenerated

The “Saw” franchise is officially dead, which means there are countless other horror / slasher movies willing to take its place. While this particular brand of torture film is no longer hot, a new hybrid is emerging.

It’s a combination of torture film with action movie, and it’s perhaps best represented by “The Collection,” which just got a brand new trailer.

Written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (“Saw IV” through to “Saw VI”), “The Collection” is directed by Dunstan and is actually a sequel to the 2009 “The Collector.”

It sees the sole survivor from the original using his knowledge of the killer’s lair to help recover a girl who’s been taken prisoner by The Collector.

“The Collection” will be out on November 30.
