8GB of holy storage

We must admit that the Brass Cross USB Drive looks very good and can make a very cool gift for some of your friends over Christmas. While the launch of such a gadget before December 25 makes perfect sense, some might be surprised to see that in this one's case we're not dealing with a toy-like USB drive, but with a very hefty 8 GB storage device that's really no-nonsense. Now, it may prove that the Brass Cross USB Drive will not be sold too well in parts of the world where Christians are a minority, such as Far East and Asia, the Arab countries and so on, nevertheless this does not diminish the “cool factor” of this gadget.

At the same time, one fashionable thing about this USB drive is that its creators have decided to skip the fake gold plating and the crystal galore we're so used to see (and maybehate) in the world of USB wearables. The antiqued brass finish makes some hefty attempts to look as authentic as possible, though one might not be convinced at all by this endeavor.

Nevertheless, the all-metal construction is altogether nice and will keep your data safe in case you drop this drive by accident, or if it gets tossed away, stepped on, or submitted to similar harsh treatments.

It's most likely that a lot of people will say that wearing such a metal cross around your neck may look dorky and that they would rather carry it in their pockets. Yet, if you're the “cross type,” the 28" universal size chain could come in just perfect, especially as it is delivered for free inside the box.

The Brass Cross USB Drive works on any system running Windows 98 to Vista, Mac OS 10.x or newer, and Linux 2.4.2 or newer. Moreover, if you're using it on older systems (and why would you still run them?), make sure you employ the supplied driver/utility CD. The Brass Cross USB Drive retails for $22, but generous discounts for larger orders are available.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
