UEFA Champions League has chosen the last preliminary
encounters for this season. And there are going to be a couple of interesting encounters in the 3rd preliminary round. If UEFA decided to allow AC Milan to compete in the Champions League, then we will certainly have one of the most incredible 2-leg matches of the European season so far.
The Milanese side will meet Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League preliminary round. Well, the Serbians will have to pass their 2nd leg against Cork City but, thanks to their 1-0 away win, the East-Europeans can consider themselves qualified for the next round. And the most disappointed man after the draw must be former Inter Milan goalkeeper Walter Zenga. The Italian coached Red Star last season, but was sacked after he managed to win both the domestic championship and the Serbian Cup. This would have been a great way to revenge his former team and lifetime AC Milan rivals, Inter.
Arsenal will, more than likely, meet Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia, while Liverpool will have an easy round against Israeli side Maccabi Haifa. Here is the complete schedule of the Champions League 3rd preliminary round:
Sheriff / Spartak Moscow - Liberec
Shakhtar - Hafnarfjordur / Legia
Zurich / Salzburg - Valencia
Levski / Sioni - Chievo Verona
Hearts / Siroki - AEK Athens
