Sega announced today, January 15, 2013, that the upcoming The Cave game development by Double Fine and designed by Ron Gilbert, will be made available for Linux-based operating systems and Apple’s Mac OS X next Wednesday, January 23.

The Cave is a 2D adventure platform game in which the player needs to explore a sentient, talking cave with the help of three handpicked characters.

The price of the game has also been confirmed as 12.99 EUR (14.99 USD or 9.99 Pounds). The Cave will be cross-platform, which makes it playable on the Linux, Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.

Steam users can already pre-order the game right now! Hurry up, because those who pre-purchase the game will also earn a few Team Fortress 2 bonus items.
