If you thought that you saw it all when it comes down to compact camcorders, then wait until you feast your eyes on the golf ball sized CamBall, this personal digital recorder coming with all the features that you could expect from such a product as well as being wearable, mountable, and waterproof.

Available in two models, the CamBall SG-31 adding motion detection to the standard features of the SG-30, both camcorders are able to record video at a 320 x 240 resolution and 25 fps (or take snapshots) the CamBall coming with a built-in microphone as well as 128MB of embedded memory, an SD card slot being also available in order to raise the storage capacity to a maximum 16GB (the cam comes with a free 2GB SD card).

A built-in battery is also present, the manufacturers saying it will provide up to 2.5 hours of continual recording (12 hours in power-saving mode), the CamBall being charged via USB.

The same USB connection is used for downloading footage into your PC, the CamBall also supporting simultaneous recording and charging.

But the feature list doesn't stop here, since this personal digital camcorder also comes with a MP3 player to store and listen to music, stereo headphones being bundled with the device as well as an adjustable sports band and neck strap lanyard, that should make this pretty easy to carry around.

Additional accessories are also available for all CamBall models, the optional Surveillance Pack including a CamBall mount for concealed placement along with a power adapter extension cord which allows for continuous, non-stop recording while the Sports Pack comes with a handlebar mount for motorcycles, leisure bicycles, and mountain bikes as well as a waterproof case for scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing, boating, or surfing.

With such an impressive feature list, and an even more impressive accessory list, it's hard to imagine a situation where the CamBall wouldn't prove itself useful, although these two units carry a pretty decent price premium, the CamBall SG-30 being priced at $149.99 while the SG-31, that features motion-activation, comes at $199.99.
