The Brooding Hotness That Is Christian Bale...Anyone want some Batman? |

Christian Bale is hot. Yes, I'm sorry, but this is the best think I could come up with as an introductory phrase. The Irish-born actor graces the cover of 'GQ', the March edition and words cannot even begin to describe how good he looks: that crooked mouth, the brooding expression, those stone cut features, the attitude...
I noticed that most people don't understand why Christian Bale is considered to be one of the hottest actors in Hollywood right now. But when it comes to, say, Brad Pitt or George Clooney, the same people ask no more questions and go along with what has become the polite thing to say: yes, they are sex symbols. What sets those two and Bale apart?
Just to set the record straight, my intention is not to take down Pitt or Clooney from the pedestal they were put on (I, too, agree that they're sexy) but to try and make some room for others. You see, from my point of view, Bale is an accomplished actor (and a very good one for that matter) but he is only at the beginning of his career so maybe that's why his parts are not as numerous as Pitt's. Then again, he has done movies of all genres, from dramas ('The Prestige'), to thrillers ('American Psycho') and action ('Batman: The Beginning') and, in all of them, he has delivered outstanding performances.
As the interview accompanying these photos states, Bale's characters can only be fully functional when isolated from the rest of the world. And the mag asks him: is that the same way you are in your personal life? No, Christian says (probably after he loosened his facial muscles a bit), on the contrary. He is happily married with Winona Ryder's former assistant and make up artist and they just had a baby.
The actor also has an explanation for why we, the public, don't get to read that much about him in the press: for him, his personal life is meant to be personal, not spent in the limelight. So we'll just get the little we have of him and settle for his presence on the silver screen and his rare appearances in magazines. Although, we could use more photo shoots like this one... His hotness is way too hot!
Of course, you are free to disagree with me on both my statements (him being a wonderful actor and him being dead gorgeous). I, for one, will continue to pray that Christian Bale broods some more in my direction.

Stop living in a lie people... grow up... he is a different and a normal man in real life (i hope), and thats only a movie. |
