Sony has just announced the release of its latest range of LCD televisions of its already renowned Bravia line-up - the S series, which includes TV sets ranging from 46 to 26 inches - the KLV-46S200A, KLV-40S200A, KLV-32S200A and KLV-26S200A, informs Hardware Zone. The S-series is HD-compatible with support for both 1080i and 720p HD signals.

"Sony has expanded its BRAVIA High Definition LCD television range with the S-series that offers outstanding picture and audio quality at an affordable price. The S-series reaches out to a wider population to experience High Definition at its best, with unprecedented color accuracy and wide viewing angle for maximum enjoyment, "states Mr Hiroshi Kikuchi, General Manager of Display Marketing Group, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific.

The S-PVA panel delivers a viewing angle of no less than 178 degrees, enabling the users to view the images from any position, as the TV can also be placed in any place because of the same enhanced feature.

The users can connect the PC to the Bravia S TV set using only one PC cable - the HD15 cable, the S display becoming consequently, a huge monitor for the PC. But, the users can also benefit from Bravia S's High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Input for High Definition digital video and audio streaming, which offers a connection with another device without any fuss by using one cable.

The new Bravia series benefits also from the latest technology invented by Sony - the BRAVIA Engine, which is, in fact, a chip digital processor that is meant for displaying images with advanced contrast ratio (1300:1) in order to generate brighter and sharper pictures and it is also used to diminish MPEG distortions.

The new S-series BRAVIA models will be available in Asia Pacific from the end of July.
