The Bouncer is a video game developed by Dream Factory Co. Ltd and published by Square

Co. It was released in 2000 on just one platform, the PlayStation 2 gaming console from Sony. This is a title which mixes action and role playing game features, and is played from a third person perspective. There are also elements of martial arts games and from sci-fi titles as well.

The release is built around the experiences of the employees of a bar. Dominique, a young girl who also served as the mascot of the bar and is the best friend of Sion, one of the bouncers, has been kidnapped by the Mikado Special Forces, one of the worst secret organizations in the gaming world. The three bouncers of the bar, Fate, Sion and Kou, are angry because of the kidnapping and will go up against the Mikado Special Forces to set the young girl free.

The game is billed as an "interactive action film" and the narrative is delivered to the player by way of a wide array of cut scenes. The three bouncers working at the bar are always together as the story progresses and they fight in all the battles, so the player gets to choose whom he wants to control at the beginning of each encounter. As the game unfolds, the three advance in rank and get new moves and power ups which can help them in the fight against the Mikado.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Save health in Rocket Tower

In the Rocket Tower sequence, if you are low on life or if you do not think you can survive all the way through, run past the robots or guards. You can still win the level but you will lose all the battle points.

Hidden computer

When the characters split paths, choose Sion. After defeating the two security guards, watch the intermission sequence and you will be in an office-like room. Go straight, then left to a door. Exit this corridor through the door on the immediate left. Run through the bar and out the door on the other side. Proceed left if you want to fight a security commander and a P-101, but it is not necessary. Go down the corridor a little bit, then left through the door.

Follow the doors until you go up a flight of stairs, fight five to six guards with two P-101's, and see Kaldea the panther. Keep going and you will end up in a sloppy little computer room. Walk up to it and check out the information provided on the MSFs, Mugetsu, Kaldea Orchid, and "Aggelos Anastasius".
