MPA, the International branch of MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), scored another victory in the war against the virtual pirates. The Swedish site BlueCrap, one of the most notorious warez sites, was shut down.
MPA estimates that over the last two years, BlueCrap, which had a storing capacity
if 2,000GB and an Internet connection that allowed a movie to be downloaded in just a few minutes, has put at the users' disposal over 15,000 movies and TV shows and other materials the site didn't own the copyrights for.
A private person, under the nickname of "Swemike", administered BlueCrap but the MPA discovered that he was helped by seven of the most well known organizations involved in the illegal duplication and distribution of movies.
MPA said that site was shut down after the organization's lawyer sent an e-mail in which he threatened to sue the site.
Lately, the anti-piracy organizations have won several battles with famous file-sharing networks, like Grokster and Kazaa, and have determined others to shut down (WinMx).
It seems that LimeWire, another famous file-sharing network, will introduce filters to prevent the sharing of files that infringe the copyright.
