It's not often that we get excited about a trailer, especially in today's light filmmaking fashion that sweeps through Hollywood, but the latest project from Alexander Gonzales Inarritu has major potential to leave you wanting to see the movie badly.

The director is famous for making films such as “Amores Perros,” “21 Grams,” “Babel” and “Biutiful” so people were really curious what he was going to make out of a film with a comic book theme. “Birdman” stars Michael Keaton as an actor who used to play a superhero on the screen but has hit a low point in his career and now takes to Broadway to make a comeback.

Among the other actors that star in this potentially awesome production are Emma Stone, Zack Galifianakis, Amy Ryan and Edward Norton, who can actually be seen getting in a brawl with Keaton's character in the trailer, in what can be only described as a “lame fight.”

The trailer is brilliantly set to the music of Gnarls Barkley's “Crazy” and it offers glimpses of the director's intricate way of storytelling, which includes many fantasy sequences and dark humor. The word “Crazy” from the music should be taken literally when it comes to the main character, but that only adds to the appeal of the story.

“Birdman” is expected to drop in theaters beginning with October 17, 2014.
