Almost two weeks ago (in the hours following the head-shaving madness), Britney was spotted at the Mondrian hotel, wearing a blue wig and crying her eyes out because no one 'wanted [her] anymore' and because the clerk would not give her a room without money or credit card. That was probably the second most shocking story about the former pop star (number one being her umbrella attack on the paparazzi).
Various tabloids, among which also the 'Daily Mail', ran a story according to which Britney spent an entire day at said hotel on the mercy of the tourists: a couple took her to their room and then bought her bikinis, two women also took pity on her and borrowed her yet another bathing suit and the hotel clerk allowed her to linger on the premises, even if denying her a room. If one were to lend an ear to what was written about that day, we would also have to take notice of this, the most disturbing account of what Britney did in the days before her first trip to rehab:
'She kept saying: "Nobody wants me anymore". A couple of tourists felt sorry for her and took her upstairs to their room. Then they took her to the gift shop, she went back and forth trying on three different bathing suits. But bizarrely she then went to the pool and tried to shave her legs. After that, she tried to get a room again and couldn't get one. She was obviously intoxicated.', the 'Mail' wrote. However the case might have been, chances are the public will never get to know exactly what happened that day.

But 'Us Weekly' has the inside story from the gals with which Brit Brit spent that day. They were also 'kind' enough as to sell the photos taken on the occasion, to prove that they did hang out with her. Even more, the two young women in question took her to their room and lent her a bathing suit (anyone wonder how many bikinis Britney needs for a day in the sun?). 'Around noon, Spears (then in a blonde wig) began chatting up with a woman in the bathroom, who offered to loan the pop star a bathing suit. Spears followed her new friend to her hotel room where - after changing into a borrowed bikini - she raided the minibar. She grabbed four or five bottles and just started mixing everything and drinking them.', the magazine writes.
Other sources claim that the fallen pop star looked as if she really 'needed a friend' and that she was extremely 'sad' and depressed. Who wouldn't be if they had to rely on the kindness of strangers, a kindness that goes only so far, until one of the popular mags offers to buy their pictures? On a brighter note, Britney Spears was spotted this morning in Santa Monica, where she attended her first AA meeting outside the Promises rehab center, looking better than she had this past month. Looks like rehab is doing wonders for her!
