Last night, NBC’s The Biggest Loser wrapped up its 15th season and, as usual, crowned a winner. The person to have lost most weight in relation to the starting weight and to have walked home with the $250,000 (€185,061) prize is Rachel Frederickson.

Rachel was actually a star swimmer in her school years, but she started packing on the extra pounds when she returned to the US after spending some time in Germany with a boyfriend.

She works as a voiceover artist in Los Angeles and she entered the competition tipping the scales at 260 pounds (117.9 kg). At her last weigh-in, Rachel was 105 pounds (47.6 kg), which means she dropped 59.6 percent of her starting weight, the highest margin ever posted by a contestant on the show.

The other two finalists were Bobby Salem and David Brown.

“I finally came out of hiding and shared my story and then it's that moment where I had to say, ‘I'm going to embrace being me and being different and just choosing to own my path and to move forward in this life and know that I can take control and do anything that I want.’ It's just been amazing. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to follow your own path,” Rachel said before her final weigh-in.

The season 15 finale also featured a very beautiful live performance by American Idol alum Ruben Studdard, who was also in the competition trying to lose weight.
