The Big Britney Wake Up Call. And a Free Pass to Mock the Former Pop Princess

If this doesn't get Brit thinking, I don't know what will...

Britney is still a mess...will that ever change?

Friday night was Britney night in Hollywood. And it wasn't because the queen of all trainwrecks pulled yet another disaster performance live on TV, but because someone thought it was a good idea to organize a so-called art show with an all Britney theme. Which basically means that every narcissistic Britaloony in this universe was free to make an appearance and mock the former pop princess in just about any way imaginable.

You name it, they had it: Britney impersonators of all shapes and sizes and just about any other kind of Britney lover or hater imaginable were there to either proclaim their undying love for Brit or ask people to boycott her and stop buying her single Gimme More. "Boycott Britney Spears ... she is a drug addict!" said celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who stopped by to bring his own personal touch to the event by shaving heads in the name of Brit Brit. "I think she's tragic in a tragically tragic way" was the extraordinary proclamation of a Paris Hilton impersonator.

You can imagine it was quite a classy event. You can watch a video of it HERE - and check it out for yourselves. The fact is, in the end Brit has done this to herself by allowing her lifestyle and day to day appearance to turn her into the butt of all jokes and parodies. In fact, just this weekend the troubled pop tart - who has recently sparked suicide rumors and is said to be fleeing the country with her kids in tow on her way to Cuba - has managed to confirm the fact that all of her clothes seem to be stained in some way by making an appearance wearing a gray frock that sported a very unflattering armpit stain.

But just so that this is not entirely a pessimistic Britney article, there are still real A list celebrities out there who have the guts to step forward and declare themselves "team Britney". One such example is Rihanna, who spoke up in defense of the popwreck and her already infamous VMA performance.

"You can't judge her performance without knowing what was going on with her personally" Rihanna said. "She had so much pressure for that one performance. I'm telling you, it's not easy being on that stage. I performed for a minute and a half, and I was extremely nervous. To have the amount of pressure that Britney had? I don't know what I would've done. She did her best, so leave her alone". Well, that will definitely not happen, but mainly because Brit Brit is usually asking for all the attention - but maybe there will be a day when she'll stop making a fool of herself. Yes, I know, wishful thinking.
