“The Bible” series on History Channel is, without a doubt, one of the most popular and, at the same time, debated new arrivals on TV, but its producers also want viewers to learn something from it, not just watch it to pass the time.

Mark Burnett, who has never made a secret of being deeply religious, and wife and fellow producer Roma Downey have helped create The Bible Experience in New York, in Manhattan.

Check out a preview of what you can expect from the display in the video below.

“The Bible is alive, and we've brought artifacts to bring it closer to you,” Burnett says.

“Bring the kids. It's free. Many of these artifacts have never been seen before in New York and never been seen in America,” Downey adds.

The Bible Experience is located at 450 W. 14th St. in Manhattan, and will be open until March 27. It is free of charge.
