After years of speculation and reports coming in there was work being done on the project, we can now finally reveal that the “Beverly Hills Cop 4” movie is coming to a theater near you in 2016. Of course, it's going to star that lovable and mischievous cop Axel Foley, played by everyone's favorite comedic actor, Eddie Murphy.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that the movie has been scheduled for Paramount to be released on March 25, 2016. The producer named for the project is Jerry Bruckheimer, with Eddie Murphy returning as the character of Axel Foley, the loud-mouthed cop from Detroit from the original trilogy.

Another potential good news is the fact that the studio has hired Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec as writers for the script. The pair is known for its work on the script for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” so we know they can deliver a good action movie. The comedy part is going to be handled by Murphy.

Director for the movie is Brett Ratner and he's looking to start shooting this summer or fall, to get the movie ready by 2016. Bruckheimer is quoted as saying back in April that “We're going to take Eddie [Murphy] back to Detroit. He's going to be in Beverly Hills … so we're going to have some fun with him.”
