Avid Twitter fans using TweetDeck on OS X or Twitterrific on iOS have important updates to download and install. Both releases are packed to the rafters with fixes and tweaks. Read on for the full scoop.

TweetDeck 3.6.2 includes fixes for flickering and the ability to create a new DM from the Messages column. You can mute users from the user profile menu, and there are some fixes and improvements included to make the app run smoothly and efficiently.

Twitterrific version 5.7.1 is a heftier update that removes queueing of tweets to prevent accidental duplicate posts, adds new safeguards to prevent web ads from automatically opening Safari, improves formatting of links set from twitterrific via email, opens older twitter status links now in the app, and lets you double-tap in the photo viewer to properly zoom in on a given image.

Some important bug fixes are included. The new tweet counter has been tweaked to desaturate properly when behind popup views, and favoriting tweets from blocked accounts will no longer result in a queue loop. Also fixed, RTs no longer display as "RT'd by and you." Several crash fixes are also included.
