Infinity Ward’s creative strategist, Robert Bowling, has confirmed that the studio has hand picked some of the most popular user-created game modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer and will make them available, albeit with some modifications and enhancements, to all players of the first person shooter.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released last month and it already set a new sales record, managing to rake in $1 billion (€767 million) in just 16 days, overtaking any other entertainment property in history, including James Cameron’s Avatar movie.

Now, after implementing several hotfixes and patches for the game, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling confirmed that the studio is now working on a special treat for those who engage Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer mode, as several of the most popular user-created modes will be made public in the following weeks.

According to Bowling, who talked with G4, enhancements will be made to these modes and they’ll soon be available in public playlists during the multiplayer experience.

"We've been noticing a lot of user-created game modes that, in the coming weeks, we're going to be adding to the public playlists in multiplayer," Bowling revealed. "We're going to be adding some in for the holiday, brand new modes that the users created, that we adapted, made more polished, and are putting into the game.”

There’s no word on how Infinity Ward will reward those who actually came up with these popular modes, but let’s hope the studio will be able to give credit where credit is due.

Bowling declined to reveal an actual estimated release date for when these user-created modes will be made public, but Modern Warfare 3 online gamers might expect them sometime at the beginning of January, 2012.

Until then, players can still enjoy their traditional multiplayer publicly, or set up their own private modes.
