The Best Game Ever Is Ocarina of Time! Science Lesson Inside

A recent list of the best video games ever made, compiled by readers and writers of the lauded British gaming magazine Edge, says that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the best game in the whole wide world. Now, such a classification was bound to stir some... stuff up. Thus, CNet's Crave blog quickly contacted someone who apparently thought otherwise. You should definitely read
this:

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is truly a masterpiece that should be thought of as one of the greatest games ever created. But to call it the greatest game of all time is a serious misstatement. Unlike Super Mario Bros., Ocarina of Time was released in an era where video games were booming and sales were on the rise. Simply put, everyone was playing video games, and the game was the best of its time. But no other game in history--Ocarina of Time included--was able to save an entire industry from almost guaranteed destruction the way Super Mario Bros. did, and it is for this reason that we should all give ol' Mario and Luigi credit where it's due."

Of course, this is just one opinion, but a good one nonetheless. You can't really say that "this" game or "that" game is the best in all the west. Basically (here starts the science lesson), nature likes to diversify itself. All around the world we see differently shaped trees and fruits, differently engineered predators, like the cheetah and the owl (as one uses speed to catch its dinner, while the other uses night vision), and so on. Why? Because it's good. Diversity is good, or at least that's what mother nature seems to be hinting at. Thus, since there are so many different people on this planet, diversity was the only answer to each and every one's needs.

To make a long story short, yes, some games observably "stand out from a crowd," but you can never classify one as the best of all. It's like saying that beans is the best food ever made. Some actually love beans more than anything, while others hate that particular food. However, some actually hate people who eat beans...

Ocarina of Time IS the greatest game ever. I must say, after playing this game for the first time and finishing it, my mind was set. Single greatest game EVER, especially for its time. The gameplay, the quests, the collecting of objects, all the fun you have with the story...all these are what make it my favourite game EVER. A well chosen pick for number 1

(To the previous commenter) Sweet Jesus, did you even read the article? THERE IS NO BEST GAME EVER.
