A highly anticipated game

Music games are becoming very important these days and although the two companies that currently hold the genre in their clutches, Activision and Harmonix, are both very popular, they will soon release customized versions of their Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles.

While Guitar Hero: Metallica promises to deliver the best all-around heavy metal experience, with the famous band plus a lot of their friends, including Queen or Slayer, Harmonix has been keeping things on the down low about its future game based on the legendary band The Beatles.

That is, up until now, as the studio has just revealed a lot of details about the title, which will be called The Beatles: Rock Band. The most important piece of information is the fact that the game will be launched on September 9, 2009, a very interesting date, and will be offered in three different bundles, depending on whether you want just the game, or peripheral instruments alongside it.

These are the three bundles that will be released, including their prices, but please note that other Rock Band peripherals will be compatible with the game, so there is no need to buy new ones.

The Beatles: Rock Band Software - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii: 59.99 dollars • The Beatles: Rock Band Standalone Guitars - Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii: 99.99 dollars  • The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii: 249.99 dollars

The future game will allow gamers to pick up the guitar, bass, microphone or drums and “experience The Beatles extraordinary catalog of music through gameplay that takes players on a journey through the legacy and evolution of the band's legendary career,” according to the joint press release made by Harmonix, the developer, MTV Games, the publisher, and Apple Corps, the owner of the rights to the song portfolio of the famous band. The Beatles: Rock Band will also benefit from custom-made peripherals modeled after instruments that belonged to the legendary members of the band, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, throughout their careers.

More details about the game and when pre-orders will start will be revealed in the following weeks or months. Until then, we can enjoy a somewhat vague website dedicated to the title.
