From the Liverpool to the psychedelic one

Music games are becoming more and more popular these days thanks to their high value of entertainment and the fact that you can play them with your friends of families. This has resulted in a lot of profit for companies that create such titles, especially Harmonix, which is keen on tackling new subjects.

A few months ago we found out that the studio would create a special game dedicated to iconic band the Beatles. Although a lot of people thought that the team would just create a special version of Rock Band, similar to the way Activision did with its Guitar Hero franchise when it released special Aerosmith or Metallica versions, the team made a few eyebrows lift when it said that it would be a completely new title.

Since then, details haven't been quite numerous, but it now seems that former member of the band, Sir Paul McCartney, has revealed a very interesting tidbit of information concerning this future title, when speaking with Entertainment Weekly: “It will feature different periods of the band - you get early days, Liverpool, then psychedelic, and on from there. It's very cool. And I like the idea that the game introduces kids to music, you know?”

While it was clear that the game would feature a lot of songs from the famous band, the idea of dividing them into time periods sounds very good. Hopefully we will get to see the changes that prompted the shift in terms of songs from each period to the other. Also the fact that the famous singer is looking at music games with optimism in terms of teaching children about music is also very nice to see.

Sadly the game doesn't have a release date so until we can sing along with the famous band, we'll just have to be content with the Rock Band titles and their own music offerings.
