Users can fully customize the interface

Part of a series of design experimentations the team at FITCH did, based on exploring the future of digital communication, the BLANK comes with an OLED touchscreen.

Most people want to customize their phones, whether this means downloading ringtones, changing the snap-on covers or adding 'tatoos'. The BLANK was probably designed with those people in mind.

In this case, the screen represents the whole front of the phone and with the help of downloadable moving or static skins, the user will be able to make the handset looks according to his/her tastes.

According to Cris Kujawski, the one responsible for its creation, the concept phone is based on the principle that the device the users carry should reflect their personality as much as the clothes they wear, the cars they drive or the music they listen to. And this is true enough, since mobile phones have recently become a fashion accessory, with mobile phones available for any possible type of user being available on the market.

Aside from making the handset look good and allowing customization, the full coverage OLED has several other benefits. The benefits include lower power consumption compared to traditional mobile phone screens, a higher contrast ratio and the ability to fully customize the interface, eliminating any unneeded functions.

So bring up a QWERTY keypad whenever you need it, or remove it to watch media in a true widescreen format. BLANK also features a camera shutter button that was placed on the back of the phone. There's also a chrome strip that surrounds it, which will make taking self portraits easier. And most of all, the phone comes with smashing good looks, boasting what most concept phones boast, proof that designers can think outside the box.
