Why?

Lava lamps are one of the iconic gadgets to remind you of the hippie era, and they're at the same time one of the easiest recognizable retro things. Some individuals may find these products truly fascinating (count us in, too) while others might think the devices are simply ridiculous. Well, if you were looking for something that's undeniably ridiculous and almost perfectly pointless, here goes the Auto Lava Lamp, a must-have accessory for all the hippies on the go, or for those who are searching for the best ways to add futile bling to their rides.

The contraption is nothing more than a fully-functional lamp that comes in a diminutive size, perfectly fitting in your car, and easy to install in almost any place, save for the wheel itself.

You can power this extremely small device using your lighter socket and enjoy its soothing effect. The lamp will auto-cycle through three colors, alternating between red, blue, and green, and moving the slow, fluid blobs up and down, just like its full-scale counterparts. Thanks to its Velcro system, you can attach the gadget to almost any flat surface in your car, and you can even install multiple Velcro pads, in case you feel like changing its position.

We still cannot picture the person entering the shop and buying this silly gadget, let alone having it installed in his/her car and driving away in pure hippie style. Nevertheless, if you do happen to be this customer, we strongly recommend keeping your eyes on the road and staring at the Auto Lava Lamp only when you're in the parking lot or waiting at a veeery long red traffic light. Or even better, while partying in your garage, listening to some Janis Joplin.

At least the Auto Lava Lamp comes at a ridiculously low price that's perfect for buying and giving it as a gift to your friends, just to see their confused and uneasy looks: $6.97, here.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
