The Asia Game Show, which was held in Hong Kong, China, from December 23 to December 26, has officially become the world’s largest gaming convention, with over 472,000 people attending the exhibition last month.

Gaming is pretty much part of mainstream culture, at least when you consider the huge conventions that take place each year in various parts of the world.

Up until now, Germany’s GamesCom was considered to be the largest one, with over 275,000 people attending last year’s edition, following closely by the Tokyo Games Show, which saw over 222,000 attendants.

Now, it seems that both have been massively trumped by the Asia Game Show, which saw more than 472,000 people go through its doors in between the four days it had its doors open, via GamaSutra.

As such, while other conventions may hype up their variety of games or the companies that are presenting them, the Asia Game Show has all of them beat in terms of popularity.
