Apple has lowered the price of its refurbished Apple TV products in the U.S. to $75, which translates into €56.5 for EU customers. However, the same product actually sells for €95 ($126) in the EU.

Some see Apple’s price drop as a response to the Google Chromecast, a $35 (€26.37) dongle which replicates some of the Apple TV functionality for less money and less space.

However, Google’s offering also lacks a lot of the stuff that the Apple set-top box has to offer, which makes it a non-competitor on certain levels (such as integration with the rest of the Apple family of products).

A refurbished third-generation Apple TV currently sells for $75 (€56.5) in the United States, but EU customers have to pay as much as €95 ($126) for the same product, which makes it even more expensive than the brand new version in the U.S.
