“The Amazing Spider-Man” is a reboot of Sam Raimi's franchise and, hopefully, the first installment from many of the new franchise. The first reviews are already in – and they say this is one superhero movie fans will most definitely love.

We don't plan on spoiling the movie for you (since it will only arrive in theaters on July 3) but, if you're interested in knowing how critics reacted to advance screenings and premieres, Slash Film has pullquotes from all around the web.

The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Hollywood Reporter, Twitch and The London Evening Standard all say that the film is solid, slick, dark and moody and, while not action-heavy, very convincing, with a beating heart underneath the FX.

The chemistry between the leads Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield is very solid, as also is the acting and the writing.

In other words, don't expect an insane ride like with “The Avengers” but do expect a film that will tell Spidey's story from a different perspective from what you've seen so far.
