A new viral video for the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man” has just been released. It doesn't show Spidey at all, but it does offer an idea of the kind of challenges he'll be facing in the new film.

In an interview with the Daily Bugle (which is no longer a newspaper, but a television station), Captain Stacy explains how the media is to blame for the fact that Spider-Man is considered a hero, and how he's not a vigilante but a criminal.

He also says that Spidey is no victim, so there's no need to portray him as such. Instead of being glamorized, he should be punished for his crimes.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” is set before the events in the other 3 Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire, but it's not a prequel.

It stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Denis Leary, and will be out in 3D on July 3.
