The carrier has managed to secure exclusivity for at least a few weeks

Good news for Verizon Wireless customers anxiously waiting for the release of the All New HTC One, which is expected to go official on March 25.

It appears that the Big Red managed to secure exclusivity rights over the upcoming HTC flagship smartphone for at least a few weeks.

Moreover, the smartphone will go on sale the same day that it will be introduced in New York and London. We have already reported that UK-based retailer Carphone Warehouse will start selling the All New HTC One about 30 minutes after the smartphone is officially introduced.

HTC Source claims that a trustworthy insider has confirmed that Verizon will be the only carrier in the United States that will sell the All New HTC One “for a couple of weeks.”

The information comes in line with the latest rumors claiming the All New HTC One will only go on sale “two weeks after the 25th.”

This means that AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint customers won't be able to grab the All New HTC One when it gets released on March 25, but approximately two weeks later, when Verizon's exclusivity over the smartphone is likely to end.

While this is good news for Verizon customers, I'm not sure it's a good marketing choice judging by the financial problems that the Taiwanese handset maker has been facing for the last few years.

Not getting your best device to as many carriers and retailers as soon as possible doesn't seem such a smart choice, especially that at least two other extremely popular smartphones are about to go on sale around the same time, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2.

The main problem that HTC will face in the United States if the Verizon exclusivity over the All New HTC One proves to be true is the fact that many Android enthusiasts will choose the Galaxy S5 or Xperia Z2.

Lots of customers in the United States are still waiting for the All New HTC One's official launch on March 25 so they can better decide which flagship smartphone to pre-order.

I guess T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint customers will probably go for the Galaxy S5 or Xperia Z2, unless HTC gives them a very good reason to wait for the All New HTC One's release at their favorite carriers.

While there are no official details on the smartphone's price tag, the latest leaks indicate a $600 (€435) outright price for HTC's flagship handset, so Verizon customers may probably be able to grab the device for around $200 (€145) on 2-year agreements.
