One of the cheapest Android tablets available in the US, the Matrix One is now delayed due to some problems with customs, the manufacturer claims.

Matrix One was launched on the market back in August and was priced at $90/€70, but the company that produces the slate decided to drop its price to $60/€45 more than a month ago.

Well, it looks like Android fans looking for an affordable tablet will have to wait a bit longer for Matrix One, as “due to the situation that has occurred,” the company decided to “temporarily suspended new orders being placed at this time.”

Matrix One is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box and comes equipped with a 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi and HDMI connectivity, as well as 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

You forgot to mention that the Company website has been taken down, no one is answering the phones, and there are no replies to email. Also, any comments posted on their facebook page that say that this is a scam are deleted.

According to Google as of today, November 14, Matrix One has had their account FROZEN due to their bad customer rating and the number of mediation requests that Matrix One is ignoring. They are ignoring a chargeback by my bank as well as my mediation request with Google Wallet. Do not walk but RUN away from this company and pass the word!

Matrix One aka MTX One aka mtxone.com aka Direct Merchandise Marketing, INC is also operating as Pacatek as well. Please see the Google Cached TOS they left up on the Pacatek website with all the MTX info: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:YNh0rUEdO1AJ:pacatek.com/shop/Terms-and-Conditions.html+&cd=7&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

They have also been fully BANNED by Google Wallet for being fraudulent. Just an FYI!!!

Once I figured out who to contact (not an easy task), I got a response from them last week that their items got held up in customs, and were being released within ten business days. Just got an automated email today (11/23/12) that my order is "queued" to be sent via Fed Ex ground. Of course, it appears it hasn't been sent yet, as there is no ship date nor any tracking number.

We'll see if an actual physical, working tablet appears at my doorstep before Christmas.

Who did you contact?

They've decided to hose the mtxone customers and hope that google won't go after them. On the alleged day of shipment ( Nov 20 ) they stood up a new tablet site strivetek.com selling identically spec'd tablets for more money. A colleague and I did some digging into the dns naming and found that they are linked ( as if the identical text on several pages didn't give it away ). Their CEO has at least 15 different domains and sites setup to sell tablets, yet nobody ever seems to get them.

They also took down their facebook page, I have no way to contact them, at this point, all I want is my money back.

Has anyone been able to get their money back? Does Google Wallet stand behind their transactions? If not, I need to initiate a chargeback via my credit card, but I'll never do business with Google Wallet again if they don't issue a refund.
