The A, M, P, and U 300 Notebook Series announced by Toshiba for the second quarter of this year bring new features to the company's notebook series and will probably replace the old ones on the market. Some of the series and/or models have been announced for quite some time now and it's high time we took a closer look at them, as their new features need some description.

The A300 series brings to you a new striking, good looking exterior and a 15.4" HD screen. Moreover, the Multimedia Bar with its LED lit Feather-Touch keys and the integrated microphone and video cam may look even more attractive to some users especially because of the facial recognition featured by the camera. Beside these, there are the Harman Kardon speakers and Dolby audio profiles. Toshiba's new Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, Regza Link and HDMI output allow users to get some extensions, along with the double layer DVD Super Multi drive featured by the entire series for optical storage. Users may choose whether they want the notebook with an AMD or Intel Processors, but ATI's Mobility Radeon HD3650 card with 512 GDDR is included. The system has a price tag starting at $949.99.

The M300 notebook series has a similar look as the A300. The exterior is almost the same and they also have the Multimedia Bar with its Feather-Touch media keys like the one on A300. Yet, this is a 14.1-inch mobile computing solution and its weight starts at a little over 5 pounds. On the M300 series, users will find the same Sleep and Charge USB ports, a web-cam, the Harman Kardon speakers and the Dolby audio profiles, as well as some other features. There is only one processor choice, and that is the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. The graphics are integrated.

On the P300 series, you'll find almost the same characteristics as on the A300, but the 17" form factor makes all the difference. Beside the Intel or AMD processor choice, users can also choose from two different graphics solutions. There is the ATI's Mobility Radeon HD3470 with up to 1GB of shared VRAM on the one hand, ATI Radeon X1250 with almost 1GB of shared memory on the other hand.

With its 13.3" screen, the U300 will be the smallest notebook of all the new series. It gets on with most of the A300's features and has a flush mounted touchpad as an extra. On the processor part, only the Intel ones are to come with this notebook, as on the M300 series. The usual set of security includes a fingerprint scanner and webcam face detection.
