Unveiled for the first time yesterday, Sony Ericsson C905, the first handset from the Swedish-Japanese company to have an 8.1 Megapixel camera, is now presented in a video demonstration. The demo is kind of short, but it's still better than nothing. Plus, it's made by the guys from Sony Ericsson themselves.

The 8.1 Megapixel camera C905 comes with suggests that users will be able to take photos at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. Moreover, the camera also features auto focus, dual flash (Xenon and LED), image stabilizer, face recognition and video recording in VGA mode. Theoretically, it should offer absolutely everything that a user might want from a camera included in a mobile phone. Practically, we'll see how it performs when the C905 gets to be officially released.

Together with the high-end camera, Sony Ericsson also packed in C905 the following features: a 2.4 inch scratch-resistant TFT display with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, tri-band HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, DLNA support, NetFront browser, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB and, probably, GPS too. The C905 doesn't have 2GB of internal memory, as we initially thought, but only 160MB. Anyway, there's a Memory Stick Micro card of 2GB that comes with the phone, so it's about the same thing.

Maybe the only thing regrettable about the C905 is that it doesn't run on Symbian UIQ. Anyway, let's wait for the handset to be fully presented by Sony Ericsson. This should happen on June 17, hence we don't have much to wait.

When released on the market, sometimes in the fourth quarter of the year, Sony Ericsson will have a retail price of around 500 Euros (780 USD). For the moment, however, the short video presentation of the handset is the only way you can see the new Cyber-shot slider in action:
