Amazon has released its 5.3.2.1 firmware update version for the Kindle Touch E-Reader. This package enhances Parental Control and brings a handful of new features for the 6-inch multi-touch e-reader.

If installed, the 5.3.2.1 software version will update the user interface (one of the changes is modifying the Archive Items name to Cloud), and add the Whispersync for Voice feature that allows you to switch, without losing your place, between listening and reading.

Also, you will be able to view book covers of your titles, calculate your reading speed with the Time to Read feature (in the end, it tells you when you finish the chapter/book), and discover new titles with recommended content option.

Moreover, the sample-to-book experience is enhanced, and now, the Kindle supports reading comic books panel by panel, biographical information, and browsing books by the same author.

As for installing the software, simply connect the Kindle to the computer, copy the downloadable file onto the root folder of the device’s drive, disconnect the e-reader, and go to Menu → Settings → Menu → Update Your Kindle – select OK for confirmation and the device does the rest.

Bear in mind, that if your current firmware version is prior to 5.1.0, you must first update to it (through the same process described above) in order to be able to install the latest 5.3.2.1 version.
