O.D.F Optronics launched EyeBall, a small spherical sensor that is capable to send an omni directional 360 degree image and can also "hear" sound from a 25 meter area. The digital camera's size is about a as tennis ball's.

The omni directional optical lenses of O.D.F Optronics cover a full cylindrical scene, also called panoramic, that is nearly a spherical one, opposed to the standard optical lenses which provide coverage of a limited field of view.

The new EyeBall camera weighs about 453 grams and is protected by rugged rubber and polyurethane housing. This special housing allows it to be thrown through windows or bounced off walls.

O.D.F Optronics initially sold this device to the Israeli military and to law and military customers in Asia and Europe. The first country to see the EyeBalls was Israel because O.D.F Optronics is an Israeli-based company.

The batteries of the camera must be recharged after two hours of use. If you want to buy them, you must pay about US$4800 and if you want to replace one it will cost you about US$1700.
