The 24 action series has been revived on television and actor Kiefer Sutherland soon took the role again, despite his confessed initial hesitation. Fans were again treated to the same fast-paced story of spying and betrayal, so now there are again talks of setting up a movie. TVLine claims that executives on the show are putting their heads together and trying to sort this thing out, taking advantage of the positive buzz surrounding the project at the moment. The project has already been pitched to 20th Century Fox and is undergoing negotiations as we speak.

Kiefer Sutherland, the main actor of the series, has always been keen to bring his character to the big screen. He is quoted as saying in a previous interview that “The film's an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that.”

The only thing hindering the new 24 movie at the moment is the fact that Fox will probably want to produce another series of the TV show, and that is going to hold back the movie for at least another year.

Since the latest season of the show enjoyed good reviews, it's very likely that the TV series is going to have priority over the movie since it's a much safer bet.
