This is a pretty heavy one on the pocket device, but it sure looks nice. Art. Lebedev Studio is responsible for the design and production of a new keyboard that isn't wireless, but OLED.

The Optimus Maximus (best greatest) keyboard features 114 keys made out of full-color OLED
displays. Some of them are even in 32x32pixels and they can be customized to the users’ desire having only one limitation, their own imagination. The price tag is a little bit high if you come to think of it, but there are a lot of interesting things you can do with it. For instance, it can be programmed to show you the keys you would normally use in a game, while blanking out the other ones, so one doesn't get confused.

Basically, considering that a cordless keyboard+mouse kit goes for around 150$, and with that you can also connect to your laptop or mobile phone on a distance range of up to 60 feet, having these colored lights, while they do look nice, proves to be a little bit unpractical, it's more on a bling bling type of keyboard. Say for instance that you used a split keyboard to which you got used to, you can't break it up in two pieces, well, actually you can, but I strongly recommend that you don't do just that. Having the visual aspect very attractive doesn't add up to the keyboard having the same basic layout.

Artemy Lebedev, the designer of the keyboard and the person behind this bald concept has announced this item since January of 2006, taking some time before it actually entered production on the 7th of February, 2007. The initial name chosen for the keyboard was “Optimus 103”, now it's referencing more to the Roman god Jupiter Optimus Maximus, the equivalent of Zeus from the Greek mythology. Watch out for the thunder, oh, oops, that was actually the sound of the keyboard hitting the wall because you lost a Quake match. Guess you must have wished for a cheaper keyboard now.
