Determining which tweaks/mods are the most popular

As more and more iOS 7 users jailbreak their devices, developers are also adjusting their tweaks / mods for compatibility. Many new jailbreak tweaks have been released as well.

If you’re looking to know the number 1 reason people jailbreak their iDevices, I’m sad to inform you that I cannot produce that answer by myself. That doesn’t mean the headline should be considered misleading.

What you want to do is head on down to the comments section and see what people are saying. After all, it’s a poll.

It’s true that jailbreaking isn’t nearly as popular as it used to be before iOS 7 was released. That’s mainly because of the million apps available on iTunes, Control Center, and other neat stuff Apple added recently.

But people still want freedom, and for that they’re willing to hack their devices and pay rogue developers on Cydia for their tweaks.

Let me give you a few nudges to get the comments started. Fancy a rundown with GTA on your iPad using a PS3 controller? Then you should find Controllers for All ($1.99 / €1.47 – ModMyi repo) very attractive.

Want to take advantage of that Touch ID fingerprint sensor in some unorthodox ways? Enter BioLockdown ($1.99 / €1.47 – BigBoss repo) and BioLaunch ($0.99 / €0.73 – BigBoss repo).

How about those annoying alert banners that cover up a good chunk of the screen and won’t go away fast enough? There’s a tweak for that as well, and it’s called TinyBar (repo.alexzielenski.com).

Other tweaks let you assign photos to contacts in your Messages conversations (SMSContactPhotos7 – BigBoss repo), access favorite apps with a swipe from the Lockscreen (Swipey $1.99 / €1.47 – BigBoss repo), and more.

But there are dozens more tweaks out there, and I’m dying to know which one’s your favorite. With enough impressions from you, I’ll do a followup with the number 1 reason people jailbreak their devices.
