If you happened to forget what day is today, Google is willing to remind you: It's Thanksgiving Thursday! Check out the logo and there's no mistake about it, you have a day offif you're from the United States (insert sad emoticon here).
As they do every year, they've made a special doodle to celebrate the traditional North American holiday. Originally, it was a day set aside to thank God at the conclusion
of the harvest season. It's not always on the same calendar date, and only a few know the secret mathematic formula for calculating it but I'll break the vow of silence and reveal it to the world. But before you get to know it you must first get a big sheet of paper and a couple of things from your desk drawers, like two markers, one black and one red (they'll come in handy for highlighting the partial results from the differential calculus regarding the phases of the moon), a big ruler to mark the columns you'll be calculating in and you might as well go to the fridge and fix yourself a snack, you're going to be at this for a while.
Ok, you got it all? Grab your pen and read carefully, because if you're not going to understand it at once chances are you're going to have a hard time afterwards. It's the fourth Thursday in November. That's it. Now you know the secret. If I'm not going to be here tomorrow you can bet your life that the system got to me (runs and hides in basement bunker against nuclear catastrophes).
Let's not forget about GMail who's also had its logo redesigned specially for this holiday. Spirit of goodwill to all or was that a different holiday? Not sure. It's not like I'm getting two days off to bask in the doing of nothing all day.
