Six people have reportedly been killed and at least 100 have been injured this past Wednesday night, when several tornadoes hit Texas' Dallas – Forth Worth region.

Some of the people injured by these tornadoes now find themselves in a critical condition, information shared with the public says.

Thus, while some managed to escape with just a few bruises, others lost their limbs. For the time being, a total of 14 people are still unaccounted for.

According to USA Today, authorities are unable to say whether these people are missing because of the tornadoes, or if they were simply away from the area when the tornadoes hit and have not yet returned.

Given the fact that the authorities are still busy going from home to home in the affected areas looking for potential victims, it is likely that both the death toll and the number of injured people will increase in the hours to come.

The same source informs us that one of the tornadoes hit Granbury's Rancho Brazos subdivision, which suffered considerable damage.

"There were probably 75 homes in [the Rancho Brazos] subdivision that are totally destroyed. We haven't had a bad one like this for a while,” County Sheriff Roger Deeds reportedly told members of the press.

It appears that the DeCordova Ranch in this area was also badly affected by the storm, Huffington Post informs us.

Another tornado reportedly hit Millsap, a small town located west of Fort Worth, while a third was reported in Wise County, fairly close to Decatur. By the looks of it, a fourth tornado was seen circling Weatherford.

Specialists explain that the tornadoes formed because of a system of thunderstorms present in this part of the United States.

This storm system also translated into the area's receiving significant rain and hail whose size was comparable to that of grapefruits.
