Dragon Age: Inquisition developer BioWare has confirmed that one of the biggest regions in its medieval RPG universe, the Tevinter Imperium, won't be explored in the upcoming game, although it's a possible candidate for future installments.

Dragon Age titles were set in the mystical land of Thedas and explored the region of Ferelden, in Origins, and of Kirkwall, a city from the Free Marches, in Dragon Age 2.

Now, in Dragon Age: Inquisition, the game will feature the land of Orlais, but it will also explore various other regions of Thedas, as the player is gathering forces to stop a big danger.

One of the regions that won't be explored, however, is the Tevinter Imperium, according to BioWare's Mike Laidlaw, who confirmed this to a Twitter follower.

It's unclear why the big region isn't present in Inquisition, but Laidlaw did leave the door open for potential sequels that might have to do with it in the future.
