Video game developer and publisher Ubisoft announces that it is working on a new Tetris Ultimate video game, which is set to be launched this summer on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony, to celebrate the 30th anniversary since the original game was introduced.

A version of the title for the PC will also be delivered during the fall.

Tetris Ultimate will include six game modes, called Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle and Power-Up Battle, each of which supports 1 to 4 players.

The graphics of the title have also been reworked in order to appeal to modern players.

Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris, Henk Rogers, managing director of The Tetris Company, and Maya Rogers, president and CEO of Blue Planet Software, will demo the new title during E3 2014.

Tetris Ultimate will also include all new social feeds which are designed to allow gamers to stay connected with friends at all times, tracking their scores and getting notifications when certain events take place.

The title also has leaderboards that compare the performance of players around the world and those who truly want to master the game need to play using Championship Rules in order to get their official Tetriminos rank.
