Users can find a mockup of the operating system on the official website

Canonical has released Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) a week ago, but users don’t have to download and run the Live CD if they don’t want to. They can just take a virtual tour on the official Ubuntu website.

There aren't too many operating systems that allow users to check some of the features in a virtual tour. Users can get a general impression about how the Linux distribution looks and what they might expect from a visual point of view.

Even if the desktop looks functional, it’s actually just a mockup. You will be able to open the file manager, the Firefox browser (which only has three working links), and a demo of the Ubuntu Software Center.

It’s also surprising that Canonical has yet to remove the icon for the Ubuntu One Music service, which was terminated a while ago. The developers never got around to it, but it’s not all that important.

Canonical put a lot of effort into Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and it shows. You can check our review of the operating system. If you like what you see and you want to properly test the OS you can also download Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) right now from Softpedia.
