Tesla has decided to unveil the mystery regarding the price of its “zero-emission, zero compromises” Model S hybrid, that will be launched on the American market in 2012.

For the first time, the company is offering three different battery versions, 40 kWh, 60 kWh and 85 kWh, coming along with different price tags. First option costs $57,400 (€43,826) and offers up to 160 miles range, NextGreencar informs.

Second battery option of 60 kWh is worth $67,000 (€51,156) and comes with a 230 miles range and the third alternative, available for clients with big deep pockets is priced at $77,000 (€58,792) and provides a 300 miles range.

These rates are set only for the US, as Tesla fans from the UK will have to wait until 2013 to get a price estimation.

Best news so far is that Tesla will offer warranties of up to 8 years with unlimited mileage for its green batteries.
