Tesco plc is an international grocery and general merchandising retail chain founded in 1924 based in United Kingdom and the largest British retailer by both global sales and domestic market share. Having almost 400,000 employees and a net income of over 3,000,000,000$, Tesco is the world's third-largest grocery retailer and the fourth-largest retailer behind Wal-Mart, Carrefour and The Home Depot.

In the beginning, Tesco specialized in food, but as the market required, they started to sell clothes, consumer electronics and financial services, Internet service consumer telecoms and, most recently, budget software. That's interesting, but the question haunting me is "Do they have enough apples?", and the answer is coming up right away...

Obviously, there are enough apples available in Tesco's stores, and when the time comes, we'll get iPhones too, for sure. Of course that I wasn't talking about the apple fruit, but about Apple's products, as you may be used to already. The first step was to introduce "apples" as a trial in Milton Keynes Kingston store, and the results of the test were really good, it seems, since Tesco decided to add more bespoke Apple areas.

The Apple zones will have over 75 Apple products and related accessories available, from iTunes cards to Apple computers, iPods and speakers. If you are worried about some advice you may receive in a supermarket on such specialized products, then you should not worry, since trained Apple staff and specially trained people from Tesco will be available to help you.

"Customers have responded really well to our Kingston Apple Area. They have enjoyed the shopping experience and the support of trained staff on hand. Rolling out these zones in further stores, Tesco is leading the way in this arena, offering a concept which allows customers to interact with the latest technology with fabulous service and all at great value of money", said Matt Leeser from Tesco.

The new Apple zones are now available at the following locations: Tesco Broadstairs, Tesco Leicester, Tesco Pitsea, Tesco Stockton, Tesco Addlestone, Tesco Barrow, Tesco Leeds Seacroft, Tesco Merthyr Tydfil, Tesco Wath-upon-Dearne, Tesco Milton Keynes Kingston and Homeplus Chelsmford.
