Netflix is planning four 13-part comic adaptations of the Marvel universe and among the heroes that are going to be featured in these series is the character of Luke Cage, an African-American street brawler with supposedly unbreakable skin.

As it turns out, muscular actor Terry Crews, famous for his Old Spice commercials and his role in “The Expendables” franchise, has his eyes firmly set on the role. Fans also have expressed their wish to see Crews play Cage on screen.

Collider spoke with the actor who is apparently psyched to jump into the superhero role saying, “I'm game!. Anything can happen.  All I know is scheduling and all that stuff—anything can happen.  I’m open to all kinds of things, but who knows?  Actually I took myself out of the Luke Cage running a while back, just because it was people trying to put people against each other.”

Among the other names that were associated with the role were Idris Elba and Michael Jai, and at this point, Crews claimed that he stopped talking about the project until further details would come out “Wait a minute, this is not even greenlit!  Can we talk to Marvel?  Why are you talking to me? Don’t put me against my homeboy for a movie that’s not existing.’  I said, ‘Take me out!”

And now the tough-looking and tougher acting Crews says he's just sitting around, waiting for Marvel to call. Actually he's taunting and daring them to call, which means he wants the part pretty bad.
